What is actually the meaning of the symbols red asterisk and Green circle?

The meaning of the symbols is the following:

 This folder is synchronized by SYNCING.NET as the main folder of a SYNCING.NET "Sync Folder" . The symbol is only visible on the main folder but not on the subfolders. 

 This symbol appears on all files, which were created or changed by another participant, respectively on all (sub) files, which contain such files. Thus it means; new/unread". You can mark such folders/files over the Explorer context menu (right mouse click) as read. Then the asterisk disappears or if it is a main folder of a file or an Outlook network, the symbol changes from the asterisk to the green circle
